Food Basket Program

Life in Iraq is extremely costly and especially so for orphan children families and internally displaced refugee families. Child Aid International has committed to help these families by providing them with food baskets. Donations collected for food baskets will be used by Child Aid Iraq to purchase essential food items at wholesale prices.

The cost of each food basket is $50 and will provide an orphan and their family, or internally displaced family with essential ingredients for a week of Iftar dinners. Commonly these food baskets last beyond that.

Please help us reach our goal to provide these needy families with nourishing meals this Ramadhan.

Meet Tuqa

We met Tuqa three years ago when she was 6. Tuqa’s father died in a car bombing shortly after she was born. She lives with her mother and three siblings in a tiny apartment in Karbala. One of Tuqa’s brothers, Hassan, is severely autistic and relatively immobile. Some years ago, Child Aid International found the funds to send him a wheelchair to help his mother take him to appointments and errands - Tuqa’s mother is tireless in caring for her children and works hard to ensure they’ll capture any opportunity available to them.
